God Be With You Till We Meet Again

I live in downtown Salt Lake City and am fortunate to be a 5 minute walk away from temple square. Because of that I am able to go to Music and the Spoken Word each Sunday. If you don't know, the Mormom Tabernacle Choir sings God Be With You Till We Meet Again, at the end of each broadcast, well here is a little memory about that song...when dad was released from being the stake president in Escalante many years ago, several of us siblings were able to go down and be there for that stake conference. During the meeting he requested the closing song be changed to God Be With You Till We Meet Again, as it was one of his favorites. Well, it has been one of mine since then, but it has much more meaning now for me as we approach a time when it will be true for us as a family. Anyway, when I hear the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sing that song each week, it brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me of being in that church meeting with mom and dad as well as knowing that eventutally we will be singing and having those thoughts about dad. I know he will be wanting us to think of him giving us that advise because he loves us and cared deeply for our family and that we will be meeting him again.

Family Reunion

Excepting the fact that a family reunion in 2011 may mean missing having dad there we Barneys who are in charge of the next reunion would like to move to this summer. We would like to have it the weekend of June 11-13. We are not sure much more then that about it but would like to let you know that is our plan. Our first request is to let us know how you feel about that idea? I think we will just plan it around things to do in Nampa, (I never thought I would be typing those words!), maybe even a visit to Karcher Mall, dad could you give us all 20 bucks? J/K
Anyway let all your extended family know of this change of plans and lets do all we can to have all our own children there. Love to you all.

How Quickly Things Change

Due to the news we have recently received about our dear old dad, some of us though we would like a blog where we can post feelings and memories dedicated to our sweet parents. This blog is for anyone who would like to add such things to it. The sign-on information has been emailed to all our siblings who will hopefully share it with their kids so everyone who is part of Bossy Bob's Bunch can post thoughts for mom and dad.
I would like to add one comment here and that is for you mom, your email telling us about dad was so sweet and thoughtful. It's tone was kind and caring for each of us and was worded so lovingly. I'm sure it was one of the hardest emails you have ever had to send us and one of hardest for us to receive but your special words helped soften the news some how.
May we do the same for you and dad over the hard months to come. Love to you, DeEtte
